Warm and breezy for the last weekend of January

Breezy conditions are expected for most of the valley this weekend with gustier winds towards the west. A Wind Advisory is in effect for local mountains, the San Gorgonio Pass, North Palm Springs and Desert Hot Springs through Sunday evening. Winds could reach up to 55 mph in the areas under the advisory.

These windier conditions will help keep conditions dry. Dew points are expected to remain in the 20s and 30s as a warming trend begins. Daytime highs will reach the upper 70s while overnight lows will remain in the upper 50s.

Big changes are ahead for the beginning of February. The precipitation outlook points to a wet start to the month. While it's too early to provide specific details on timing and estimated accumulation, the current data shows that rainfall totals could be higher than average.
