Temperatures will be cooler today as an area of low pressure moves inland throughout the day. This area of low pressure will bring chances for rain and areas of mountain snow. There will also even be the potential for a few isolated thunderstorms.

Chances for rain move in by the late morning and afternoon hours. They will linger into the evening before clearing Sunday. Amounts for rainfall will vary across Southern California. Here in the Coachella Valley amounts will remain closer to a tenth of an inch or less. Snow elevations will drop to 5500 ft. by the afternoon. Elevations above 6000 ft. could see 1"-3" of snowfall with 3"-6" above 7000 ft.

If you are traveling towards the San Bernardino mountains, keep in mind a Winter Weather Advisory is in place through midnight tonight.

The Storm Prediction Center issues outlooks for convective weather. They especially monitor the chance for severe weather. In our case today, there are no chances for severe weather but we do have a chance for isolated thunderstorms in areas below highlighted in green.

Overall, skies will clear for tomorrow with warmer temperatures moving back in. Temperatures are expected to be back in the lower 80's by Monday.
