Temperatures warming back up through the week
Gusty winds, areas of rain, and snow occurred with temperatures remaining below seasonal. Heading into this week, temperatures will warm back up above normal. The normal for Palm Springs now sits at 76°.
Trough of low pressure will continue to move southeast of the area through the overnight hours tonight. While this happens, a strong northeast flow will be maintained over Southern California through Tuesday morning. Behind this trough of low pressure, a ridge of high pressure will build and warm up temperatures through the work week.
Winds are expected to continue for the desert and mountains through early Tuesday morning.
The more gusty areas will be west of the area and through the passes. For these locations, a High Wind Warning will remain in effect through noon Tuesday. Winds will be from the north 20-35 mph with some isolated gusts reaching up to 75 mph.
Once that area of high pressure begins to settle in Tuesday, expect a fair, dry, and warm rest of the work week with temperatures back in the 80s.
There will be another trough of low pressure swinging in from the Pacific for the weekend. This will bring another chance of precipitation that we will watch closely moving through the week.
