Deputies search for suspect in deadly Thanksgiving shooting in Moreno Valley

MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (KESQ) - A search was underway today for the person who shot a 57-year-old man to death Thanksgiving night in Moreno Valley.

Deputies responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon shortly before 9:40 p.m. Thursday in the 13000 block of Heacock Street, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Upon arrival, deputies found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, according to the department. Paramedics attempted livesaving measure but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man's name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.   

No arrests were made, and the investigation was ongoing.
