Another day with near-record highs

Yesterday highs hit 89, besting a record set back in 1942!

Today, the extreme warm weather will continue across the Western states, with highs again in those upper 80s for much of the region.

The record today is 90, I think we'll come in just shy of that near 87 later this afternoon.

The trend is definitely cooler, but not by a lot. Expect lower 80s heading into the coming weekend. Christmas week itself promises daytime highs falling into the 70s.
