Man killed at Willowbrook homeless encampment identified as former NFL player

WILLOWBROOK, Calif. (KESQ) - A 55-year-old man who was killed in the unincorporated Willowbrook area near South Los Angeles was identified as a former NFL player by county authorities.
Kevin Johnson was identified as the victim by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's office, which said he died of head trauma and stab wounds.
Johnson's death was reported at about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 1300 block of East 120th Street, near Central Avenue at a homeless encampment, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. A homicide investigation was continuing.
Johnson was drafted by the New England Patriots in the 1993 NFL draft. He played for the Eagles from 1995 to 1996. He played for the then-Oakland Raiders in 1997.
