Indio City Manager Bryan Montgomery to retire in the summer

INDIO, Calif. (KESQ) -- Indio City Manager Bryan Montgomery has announced that he will retire this summer. Montgomery and his wife will begin serving as missionaries in Latin America for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Montgomery has served as the city's manager since May 2021. His leadership has helped earn honors and recognition, including Fodor's Travel 2026 "Go List, Top 25 Most Livable Small Cities" in the nation.

He has played a key role in advancing many projects, including: a new library, a public safety campus, city of Indio rebranding, new city hall and civic center campus, and more.

"It has been a privilege to serve as Indio's city manager, and I am truly grateful for the trust and support I have received throughout my tenure," said Montgomery.

Next steps will be discussed at the city council meeting on April 15, to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
