Pierce street reopens after deadly motorcycle crash

THERMAL, Calif. (KESQ) -- Pierce Street has reopened following a deadly crash involving a motorcycle and a sedan Tuesday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 6 a.m. on Pierce Street.

Investigators say a man riding a Honda motorcycle was traveling northbound when he collided with a Subaru sedan driving southbound. CHP says the driver of the Subaru turned left into the path of the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, identified only as a 29-year-old man, died at the scene.

The driver of the Subaru, a 26-year-old man, was not injured.

Pierce Street was closed for several hours during the investigation but has since reopened.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
