Cantu family continues to shed light on son’s case after preliminary hearing for alleged DUI driver

LA QUINTA, Calif. (KESQ) - The family of Liam Cantu, a 14-year-old boy killed in an alleged DUI hit-and -run in October 2025, is continuing to shed light on his case following a court hearing today.

Jose Villegas Orbe of Palm Springs appeared in Indio court Friday for a preliminary hearing.

Cantu's parents, Jesus Cantu and Jennifer Perez, say it comes as they continue to fight for justice for their son by pushing for stricter DUI laws.
