Long-awaited relief on the way as cooling trend gets started!

THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) – Saturday remains toasty, but we're already seeing cooler temperatures compared to yesterday. It's the start of a cooling trend that'll take us about 3-7°F below seasonal by midweek... relief is finally on the horizon!

This pesky Extreme Heat Warning, which has been with us for the better part of the past two weeks, is set to *finally* expire tonight.

Temperatures continue to cool tomorrow, with highs hovering near or just below seasonal, which is 107°F for tomorrow's date.

The cooldown continues through the middle part of the week. By Tuesday and Wednesday, we're looking at highs in the low 100s! We're watching potential impacts of Tropical Storm Karina. The most likely impact for us: an increase in cloud cover by midweek. Any chances for light rainfall remain small for Wednesday. For the latter half of the week, we're expecting another round of warmer and more muggy conditions. Enjoy the relief while it lasts!
