Riverside County gas prices hit highest level since 2023

THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ)- Riverside County drivers are paying some of the highest gas prices they’ve seen in nearly three years.

The average price for a gallon of regular gas reached about $6.15 Wednesday, according to AAA. That’s up nearly 60 cents from a month ago and more than $1.50 compared to this time last year.

For people who spend much of their workday on the road, those increases can add up quickly.

News Channel 3 followed a local pest control worker during part of his route to see how rising fuel prices are affecting workers who have to drive from stop to stop each day.

AAA says high crude oil prices and continued volatility in the Strait of Hormuz have contributed to rising prices nationwide.

Riverside County gas prices are now at their highest level since 2023.
