PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (KESQ) - Palm Springs Unified School District students are taking part in International Walk to School Day, encouraging physical activity and healthier daily routines.

Raymond Cree Middle School Assistant Principal Jody Diaz has continued the tradition throughout her career, starting when she was a PE teacher at Katherine Finchy Elementary.

The CDC recommends children and teens ages 6 to 17 get at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day. Walking is one way students can work toward that goal.
