Community honors fallen Palm Springs officers with memorial ride, 10 years later

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (KESQ) — Riders and community members gathered Saturday to honor Palm Springs Officers Gil Vega and Lesley Zerebny, marking 10 years since their deaths.

The Palm Springs Police Officers’ Association organized the 10th annual memorial ride to remember the officers’ service and the lasting impact they left on their families, fellow officers and the community.

The event also honored other fallen Palm Springs police officers.

Riders gathered at Palm Springs Motorsports before heading to Downtown Park, where a memorial program was scheduled to honor Vega and Zerebny. People who were not riding were also welcome to attend and show their support.

Organizers emphasized remembering the officers for who they were, including their friendships, dedication and lives beyond the badge.

The annual gathering gives the community a way to keep their memories alive and show their families and fellow officers that they are still remembered a decade later.
