Indio man arrested for possessing heroin for sale

Police arrested an Indio man Tuesday for possessing heroin for sale.

The Riverside County Sheriffs Department says La Quinta Police Officers stopped Francisco Lopez, 46, along the 78600-block of Avenida La Torres Tuesday afternoon.

Officers say they found half a pound of heroin on Lopez and said he planned to sell it.

Sheriffs deputies obtained a search warrant and say they found more drug paraphernalia inside his car.

Lopez was in jail Wednesday morning held on $50,000 bail and expected in court December 12.
