One person killed in Thousand Palms crash
UPDATE: Motorist killed in Thousand Palms crash identified
One person was killed in a crash in Thousand Palms on Wednesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident was reported at the intersection of Varner Road and Chase School Road at 2:33 p.m., but the crash appears to be closer to the intersection Varner Road and Jack Ivey Drive.
The crash involved a white Ford pickup truck and a gray Honda Civic.
The Riverside County Coroner's Office identified the man killed in the crash as 28-year-old Robert Brian Grajiola Jr. of Thousand Palms.
According to a California Highway Patrol officer at the scene, the driver of the white truck cooperated with the investigation.
Cal Fire, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, and the California Highway Patrol are on scene.
