Winter storm continues to move across the region

More widespread showers Thursday

Cold air prevails through California with an area of low-pressure filtering in unusually cooler than normal temperatures.

Showers will see a break tonight after 8 p.m. with isolated showers and snow for the mountains overnight. More widespread rain and snow will move in Thursday for the morning and last through the afternoon and early evening.

The desert is expecting anywhere between 0.25"-1" of rainfall. Areas further north to see closer to 0.5"-1".

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect through 10 p.m. Friday with snow continuing to impact holiday travel.

With increasing rainfall Thursday, there will also be potential for flash flooding through the mountains and pass areas. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect through 10 p.m. Thursday.

Temperatures will remain in the upper 80's through Saturday with a slow warm up into the 60's. Ther is another slight chance for rain we are watching going into next Wednesday.
