Banning man killed in hit-and-run, police seek suspect

A Banning man was killed in a hit-and-run accident over the weekend and police are still seeking answers as on Monday.

At 5:33 p.m. Sunday night, officers responded to the are of Ramsey Street and Apex Street for a report of a pedestrian suffering from injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, they found the victim, later identified as 20-year-old Leron Sanders of Banning, who had died from his injuries.

It is not clear exactly when Sanders was struck.

The Banning Police Department is handling the investigation and is urging anyone with information relating to this incident to come forward and contact their Detective Bureau at 951-922-3170.

At the time of this publication, no information was available on a suspect vehicle description.
