KISSIMMEE, Florida (WESH) — Police said one man was involved in a hit-and-run crash, a home break-in, and the theft of a car.

He was arrested while allegedly trying to commit another crime: stealing a helicopter, officials said.

In Kissimmee, what started with a crash spiraled further out of control.

Brandon Marti faces a long list of charges, from carjacking to burglary, battery, assault on an officer, and others.

Investigators at the Kissimmee Police Department say it all started on Forest Avenue, before 8 a.m.

After two cars collided, one man involved ran away from the scene and right into someone’s home, officials said.

The people who live in that home were there as he broke in, stole their car keys and took off, according to the report.

He allegedly continued on a mile or so from the neighborhood and then tore right through a gate at Kissimmee Gateway Airport.

The stolen car couldn’t drive any further, so police say he ran toward a helicopter.

Security couldn’t keep him from continuing on to steal yet another car that police say he allegedly crashed outside city limits.

Osceola County deputies caught up with the suspect who was believed to be behind it all. They arrested Marti and took him to the hospital.

He remains in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.

Once Marti is released from the hospital, police say he will be booked into the Osceola County Jail on at least 11 charges.
