Man dies after vehicle goes over Grand Canyon’s western rim

PEACH SPRINGS, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities say a man is dead after driving a vehicle over the western rim of the Grand Canyon in an apparent suicide. The man’s name, age and hometown weren’t immediately available Wednesday. The marketing director for the Grand Canyon Resort Corp. says the man was alone in the vehicle. Grand Canyon West is on the Hualapai reservation, outside the boundaries of Grand Canyon National Park. It’s best known for a horseshoe-shaped glass bridge that juts out of the canyon walls. Officials there say they are fully cooperating with authorities investigating the incident, and on the recovery of the body and vehicle.
