Tori King
Tori King joined KESQ News Channel 3 as a reporter and anchor in October 2023.
Tori was born and raised in the capital city of the Lone Star State and is also a dual citizen of Mexico. She grew up miles away from the University of Texas, where she learned how to throw up a Longhorn sign and watch football. When she was young, her family moved north of the Red River to Oklahoma City.
Tori attended college at the University of Oklahoma, where she received dual degrees. Tori earned a B.A. in political science and a B.A. in journalism at the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication. She also earned a Masters in Public Administration at OU. Outside of her studies, Tori volunteered at the animal shelter and served on the leadership boards for the Campus Activities Council and Alpha Chi Omega. When she wasn’t attending Sooners or OKC Thunder games, Tori worked at the university’s award-winning newscasts OU Nightly and Sooner Sports Pad. That’s where she discovered her passion for storytelling.
Although new to the Coachella Valley, Tori spent three years in Southern California before joining KESQ. After graduating during the genesis of the pandemic, Tori moved to San Diego where she was hired by FOX 5 (KSWB). There, she worked her way up from writer to morning show producer. She covered local news ranging from Comic Con and the Padres to Alex Morgan’s inaugural season at Wave FC. While there, Tori also helped break local angles during the January 6th U.S. Capitol riot and with the timeline coverage of a missing Chula Vista mom.
Outside of KESQ, you can catch Tori exploring coffee shops, testing out local restaurants, or working out at the gym. She also loves keeping up with pop culture, acting, and traveling. Tori likes to spend her free time watching Ted Lasso or going hiking with her husband and two dogs, a Dalmatian named Cicero and a Doberman named Rocki.
