**Embargo: Ft. Smith-Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers, AR** The Christmas season is right around the corner which means it's that time of year when you can hear bells ringing In front of local businesses.

December’s Coachella Valley Spotlight Recipient is The Salvation Army Cathedral City Corps.

The Salvation Army is an international movement that's an evangelical part of the Universal Christian Church. Their message is based on the Bible and that is ministry is motivated by the love of God. Their mission is also to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. 

The Salvation Army Cathedral City Corps plans to use the $25,000 grant from the Berger Foundation to expand their services and programs to low-income and at-risk children in the Coachella Valley.

The grant would also help expand their after school program, provide snacks and food to families, provide a safe environment and productive programs for those in need.
