Schwarzenegger Focuses On McCain At GOP Meeting
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) – Governor Schwarzenegger says it’s “great to be back” with his Republican friends.
Schwarzenegger addressed the roughly 300 party members and supporters at Friday night’s opening of the GOP fall convention in Anaheim.
The governor arrived nearly an hour into the 90-minute presidential debate.
Afterward, he kept his remarks focused on Republican nominee John McCain, avoiding divisive issues such as his call this summer for a state sales tax increase.
The governor vowed to campaign hard for McCain through Election Day and asked delegates to do the same.
Schwarzenegger said McCain is the only candidate who “understands math.”
Schwarzenegger said of McCain, “He’s the only one that recognizes when you don’t have enough money, you don’t go out and spend more money.”
