County CEO Issues Report On June 8th Elections Reults

The anticipated review of Riverside County’s June primary election was released today.

On the County’s website, the report states that poor communication and budget cutbacks are mostly to blame for the delay in certifying the election results.

County CEO Bill Luna was ordered to review the county’s election practices after widespread criticism of Registrar Barbara Dunmore’s handling of the primary.

The report will be released to the supervisors at their meeting on Tuesday.

Luna states that part of the problems were within Dunmore’s control and some were not.

The report also addresses the mis-communication that lead to nearly 13,000 ballots in Moreno Valley that still have not been counted. A court hearing to address those ballots are scheduled for tomorrow morning in Riverside.
