President honors C.V.U.S.D. in response to student YouTube video

President Obama discussed the accomplishments the Coachella Valley Unified School District has achieved in the face of adversity, while meeting with Superintendent Darryl Adams and officials with the Department of Education in Washington Tuesday.

Hear Obama talk about C.V.U.S.D.

The President honored educators and staff members for all of their hard work in making technology more readily available for their students and their student’s families.

The comments came after students with C.V.U.S.D. asked President Obama to visit their schools in a YouTube video, delivering the top 10 reasons why their district stands out from others across the United States.

Superintendent Darryl Adams met with President Obama and U.S. Department of Education officials in Washington D.C. on Tuesday, and he and the students wanted to let the President know just how much they’d love for him to visit the Coachella Valley Unified School District.

Adams said it would be great to have President Obama see first hand the dedicated educational professionals and staff working to transform their school system and the lives of their students and families.

However, the President hasn’t said if he plans to visit C.V.U.S.D.

Adams wants to thank Edward Simoneua and Josh Oliveros for helping make the video, and of course thanked the teachers and students who participated as well.
