Expect holiday stragglers as you head to work Monday
It was a busy weekend for holiday travel -- many returning home after the Thanksgiving fun and festivities. However, traffic might still be heavier than usual as the work week begins.
Drivers making their way west after the holiday were facing about 30 miles of gridlock from I-10 near Desert Hot Springs through the 60 into Moreno Valley on Sunday. Traffic was reduced to one lane on the 60 due to the ongoing construction projects.
Traffic was also reportedly moving under 20 mph on I-10 through the San Gorgonio pass. People experienced heavy traffic into the Calimesa area in San Bernardino county as well.
Caltrans officials are urging people Monday to continue to plan ahead, check road conditions and make sure your car is equipped, as traffic could be heavier than normal due to people continuing to return home.
