PALM SPRINGS, Calif. -

Legendary entertainment journalist and TV Icon, Mary Hart received a star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars on Saturday.

Hart was the host of Entertainment Tonight for 30 years. She holds the Guinness Book World Record for the longest entertainment news host.

She has received many awards in her lifetime including an Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award and she holds a spot on the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame.

Hart is also the long-time mistress of ceremonies for the Palm Springs International Film Festival’s Gala coming up on January 2nd.

“Through the years, I have come to love this community and not only that but since my husband and I bought a house here in 1999, we have spent increasing amounts of time here but I’ve come to see it grow and prosper and being a part of the film festival makes me feel so much a p[art of Palm Springs so to have my star laid here next to my dear buddy Herold Matzner. I feel like a truly blessed and lucky person,” Hart told News Channel 3’s Caitlin Thropay after receiving her star.

Hart had quite the day because she was also the Grand Marshal for the 27th Annual Palm Springs Festival of Lights Parade.

When asked what the key is to her success she said it’s loving what she does. “And when I interview people I really look them in the eye and listen to them and listen to their answers because I enjoy listening to people’s stories,” she added.
