Desert Ability Center Provides Opportunities for Adaptive Sports

The 8th annual Ability Festival took place on Saturday, December 14 at Palm Desert Civic Center Park.

The Ability Festival is a program of Desert Ability Center designed to showcase adaptive sports and recreational activities. They offer disability focused services and resources here in the Coachella Valley.

The one day free event allowed participants of any age with any level of ability to attend. Adaptive sports specialists and recreational rehabilitation coaches provided a wide array of opportunities to experience sport and recreation alongside friends, family and community peers.

The activities offered at the festival included team sports such as soccer, football, volleyball, and basketball; individual sports including tennis, rock climbing, archery and golf and a wide array of recreational activities.
