Local company works to create respiratory products amid Coronavirus outbreak
One company in Palm Springs has started making more ventilators and respiratory products, as the demand surges amid a global pandemic.
Vyaire Medical, Inc. is cranking out all types of respiratory equipment. The company says it recently experienced a drastic increase as hospitals began seeing more and more patients with Coronavirus.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, people with the virus likely experience symptoms like fever, cough, and trouble breathing.
Vyaire Medical, inc. produces a wide array of products that allow medical professionals to treat patients suffering from respiratory issues.
The company's site director spoke to KESQ, saying the Palm Springs location has seen a recent spike in demand in recent days. The director told KESQ that the company has 7 different product lines. Each on has a different level of complexity. Depending on the product, it can take anywhere from 2 to 6 days to reach completion.
Once ready, devices are able to go directly to hospitals. We checked in with local hospitals in the desert to see if there were any issues with supplies.
