For hours on Tuesday afternoon, a large police presence investigated what Police PIO Sgt. Mike Casavan called a report of "a person at a business in that area was believed to be in possession of a firearm."
Just before 5:00 p.m., police said they had determined the suspect had left the building. His location is not known.
During the investigation, Palm Springs Police had shut down South Palm Canyon Drive near Sunny Dunes Road. Please steer clear of the scene.
Employees had called police just after 2:00 p.m. to report the gunman. No suspect description is available at this time.
