Funds available for homeowners impacted by storm damage

Greater Palm Springs Realtors has a fund available to help homeowners and renters affected by the local declared emergency disasters in the wake of Tropical Storm Hilary.

The organization has partnered with Cathedral City, Palm Springs, and Desert Hot Springs to make residents aware of the financial resource.

"These are people that work and they're productive people in our society and we need to help them," said Jim Franklin, Government Affairs Director for Greater Palm Springs Realtors.

The organization applied for the fund and is working with its national association to distribute funding.

Anyone interested in applying for the fund must meet eligibility requirements and submit an application.

Applications were originally set to open Tuesday, September 5, but the association has pushed the date back to Friday, September 15.

Once applications open, they will be accepted for eight weeks. You find find more information here.
