It’s the 'Bachelor' but with a golden twist.

The new season of 'The Golden Bachelor’ follows widower, Gerry Turner's journey to finding love in his golden years.

News Channel 3 went on a search throughout the valley for tips for on finding love, a little bit later in life.

"Love is possible again," said pickleball fanatic and valley resident, Maria DeRosa.

That’s what 'The Golden Bachelor' is all about. This season follows the journey of widower, Gerry Turner as he sets out to find a lifelong sweetheart.

I tackled the Pickleball courts in Palm Desert to see if there was a dating scene in the Coachella Valley for those in their golden years.

Turns out there are plenty of busy matchmakers trying to help out their single friends, like Darcy and Sanjit Kundu.

"They're always like, 'Where's your single friends?' and they want to pick up Pickleball and they want to be, you know, the ballers like everybody else," said master matchmaker, Darcy Kundu.

Similar to 'The Golden Bachelor,' Maria DeRosa faced a difficult loss herself.

"I was committed for many years in a in a marriage and went through a divorce, which a lot of women out here, I find, have the trauma of either divorce or a lost spouse because of cancer or some horrible other fatal disease," said DeRosa.

DeRosa said she channeled that pain to work on herself and is happily dating.

"If you want to attract 'happy, sexy, funny, silly,' be it! But be authentic, and lastly, develop your confidence," said DeRosa.

She also shared some popular spots in the desert to mix and mingle. "Tommy Bahama, another nice one that they like is the Cork Tree, Larkspur is also very popular because it's more relaxed," said DeRosa.

And don’t forget those pickleball courts might make the perfect pick up spot.

DeRosa along with 'The Golden Bachelor' want to encourage others to live a life filled with rich relationships.

"When your last day on the planet arrives, you can close your eyes and go, 'Wow I was of value," said DeRosa.

'The Golden Bachelor’ is now airing on ABC every Thursday night.
