Indio Tamale Festival

The 31st Annual Indio International Tamale Festival will be held next month with more than 20 live performances, carnival rides and food, organizers announced today.

The festival will be held Dec. 2 and Dec. 3 between 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day at Miles Avenue Park, 82524 Miles Ave, according to festival officials. It will feature more than 20 musical acts including K-Paz De La Sierra, Son Rompe Pera, Tropa Magica, Estevie, Doggyland and Yungatita among others.

This year's festival will also feature the Artesano Tamaleria to showcase and serve tamales from local households, offering participants an opportunity to take their home recipes into a commercial kitchen and into the mouths of festival-goers.

Admission to the festival is free, but passes for attractions such as carnival rides will require the purchase of a VIP Pass. More information can be found at indiotamalefestival.com.
