From Tree Lightings to Tamales, gear up for a festive weekend in Indio

The City of Indio is gearing up for a festive weekend starting with their Annual Tree Lighting Friday night followed by the International Indio Tamale Festival Saturday and Sunday.

Friday night's Tree Lighting takes place in Downtown Indio off Towne Street and Bliss Avenue.

The tree lighting kicks off at 5 p.m. There will be plenty of family fun including a snow show, pictures with Santa and plenty of food trucks.

You can also enjoy the City of Indio's 31st Annual Tamale Festival Saturday and Sunday at Miles Avenue Park.

The festival will feature more than 100 food vendors along with retailers. There's plenty of fun for the entire family including entertainment, Lucha libre, Baile folklórico and much more.
