LA Galaxy looks to inspire student athletes from CVUSD migrant program

LA Galaxy broadcaster Joe Tutino, Fagundez and LA Galaxy staff members hosted a conversation with migrant student athletes from Coachella Valley Unified School District at Cahuilla Desert Academy today and discussed their upbringing, careers and the importance of giving back to the community.

After the conversation, LA Galaxy midfielder Diego Fagundez participated in a soccer clinic with the students and reflected on the importance of these types of opportunities when he was growing up and the impact he now hopes they have on today's youth.

"Me giving this back to them is amazing and hopefully they can take something from here and teach other kids the same thing," according to Fagundez.

The soccer clinic left an impression on Eris Benavides, an 8th grade student at Toro Canyon Middle School in Thermal.

"For everyone in the Valley it shows that they can do what they dream of," said Benavides.
