Local floral shop prepares for Valentine’s Day rush

Valentine’s Day is tomorrow!

The holiday is the #1 holiday for floral purchases.

In 2024, the Society of American Florists is expecting for 250 million roses to be cut.

Wade Frahm is the owner at Dr. Orchid in Palm Desert. He says the shop pre ordered 100 dozen roses.

And they have been hard at work for weeks. The staff met around 4:00 AM on Tuesday to arrange bouquets.

“We prepare at least a month in advance every year,” says Frahm. “We probably average 10 to 15 requests per hour ahead of Valentine’s day.”

The National Retail Federation says that American’s will spend about $2.6 billion on Valentine’s Day this year.

“We have orders that are north of $1,000 here,” says Frahm. “We scale up and down based on your budget, we will make you a beautiful arrangement no matter what.”

As Valentine’s quickly approaches, make sure to get orders in.

Frahm says “we will sell every flower in here.”
