Indio house fire displaces five, sends one to hospital

A house fire that erupted Saturday morning in an Indio home has displaced five people.

Authorities say at 11:20 a.m., firefighters responded to the 82500 block of Nancy Drive to find an active attic fire. The fire was contained to the structure after 30 minutes.

One resident was treated for minor injuries and declined hospital transportation.

Those displaced are being assisted by the Red Cross.
