Global conflict with Iran takes emotional toll close to home

CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. (KESQ)  - Carolina Vasquez, the Executive Director of Desert Insight in Cathedral City, said global conflict is showing up more often in sessions.

"Anything big that happens it does leak into our therapy sessions," Vasquez said.

She said people who are consuming a lot of news, especially around war and politics, can quickly become overwhelmed.

"The first step is always noticing what's happening within," Vasquez said. "That requires stepping back."

She said there's healthy ways to help manage stress.

"Talking to a professional or going to a support group," Vasquez said.
