Temalpakh Farm, Rooted Relatives host community event

Temalpakh Farm partnered with the “Rooted Relatives” program through Riverside and San Bernardino County Indian Health to host a community event celebrating Indigenous food and traditions.

Held at the farm’s education center, the event featured meals made with organic, Native ingredients along with hands-on activities like leather pouch making, seed bombs, and sand art.

Students from Sherman Indian High School in Riverside also attended, taking part in interactive learning focused on traditional knowledge and connections to the land.

Organizers say events like this help connect younger generations with cultural practices while promoting healthy, sustainable food choices.
