Road rage investigation leads to major weapons bust in Redlands

A California Highway Patrol road rage investigation has led to the arrest of a 52-year-old Yucaipa man and the seizure of approximately 20 illegal firearms, 20,000 rounds of ammunition, firearm suppressors, and AR-15 manufacturing equipment.

The investigation began after the suspect allegedly pointed a handgun at another vehicle on Interstate 10 near Live Oak Canyon Road on July 15. Following his arrest on Aug. 4, investigators searched his vehicle and home, uncovering a large cache of illegal weapons and ammunition.

The suspect was booked at the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department's Central Detention Center on charges including brandishing a firearm, unlawful possession of firearms, possession of assault weapons, and possession of a suppressor.
