Apple unveils iPhone 18 and first foldable iPhone

CUPERTINO, CA (KESQ) -Apple unveiled its latest iPhones Wednesday, including its first foldable model, as new CEO John Ternus led the company’s annual fall showcase.

The company introduced the iPhone 18, featuring expanded AI capabilities, Apple's new A20 chip and a stronger focus on privacy. Apple says the six-core processor, including two new super cores, makes the phone up to 20% faster.

The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199, while the Pro Max starts at $1,299. The phones will go on sale Sept. 12 in black, silver, glacier blue and burgundy.

Apple also revealed the iPhone Duo, its first foldable iPhone. Starting at $1,999 for 256GB, the device features the largest display ever on an iPhone and folds to roughly the size of a passport. It comes in star white and night sky.

Preorders for the iPhone Duo begin Oct. 16, with shipments starting Oct. 23.

The launch marks a major step for Apple as it expands into foldable phones and continues building AI into its devices while emphasizing user privacy.
