KESQ

LA QUINTA, Calif. (KESQ) – Candidates running for mayor and City Council in La Quinta will participate in a public forum Wednesday evening, giving voters an opportunity to hear directly from those seeking office ahead of the November 3 election.

The Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce is hosting the forum, which will feature seven candidates running for three elected positions.

Three candidates are expected to participate in the mayoral portion of the forum.

Incumbent Mayor Linda Evans will be joined by challengers Suzanne Espinoza-Jimenez and Lynn Langdon.

Four candidates seeking two seats on the La Quinta City Council are also expected to participate.

Incumbent Councilmembers John Pena and Deborah McGarrey will be joined by challengers Carene Hensley and Julian Herrera.

The forum will give participating candidates an opportunity to discuss their priorities for La Quinta, address issues facing residents and explain their plans for the city's future.

For voters, the event offers an opportunity to hear from candidates ahead of the November election, as they consider who they want representing them at City Hall.

The forum is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in La Quinta. The event is free and open to the public.
