PALM DESERT, Calif. (KESQ) - College of the Desert is bringing students together Tuesday for its annual South Annex Block Party, highlighting resources designed to help students feel supported and connected on campus.

The event, held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the college's Palm Desert campus, brings together several student support programs, including the Pride Center, Dreamer Resource Center, Black Student Success and foster youth services.

Students will have the opportunity to learn more about these resources while participating in activities including Día de los Muertos altars, crafts, Halloween games and a costume party.

Organizers say the event is about more than just having fun. It's an opportunity to remind students that they have a community to turn to throughout their college experience.

News Channel 3's Raymond Kalra is speaking with students and campus leaders about how these programs are making a difference and helping students find a sense of belonging.
