Man, 48, arrested for alleged Rancho Mirage residential burglary
A 48-year-old man was arrested for allegedly burglarizing a Rancho Mirage residence earlier this week, authorities said today.
The suspect, a Cathedral City resident, was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of burglary and vehicle theft, according to Riverside County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Rovann Clevelend.
At 6 p.m. Tuesday, members of the Palm Desert station's Burglary Suppression Unit along with the Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Teams served a search warrant in the 400 block of Prairie in Cathedral City, Cleveland said. The warrant stemmed from a burglary at a Rancho Mirage residence that occurred Monday.
"During the search warrant, approximately $10,000 in stolen property and the victim's vehicle were recovered,'' Cleveland wrote.
Specific details about the burglary were not released.
The suspect was subsequently arrested and booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning, where he remains held on $35,000 bail.
Anyone with additional information on the burglary and vehicle theft was asked to call Corporal Fernandez of the Palm Desert sheriff's station at 760-836-1600.
