PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (KESQ) - Update 10/13, 2 pm: Tram officials have re-opened the roadway to the tram, and the first tram car went up the mountain around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Update 10/13, 12:30pm: Tram officials say they are opening the roadway to the tram at this hour, and expect the first tram car to go up the mountain around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

UPDATE 10/13: Officials announced this morning the Palm Springs Arial Tramway will remain closed today with no current timetable for reopening.

Greg Purdy, Vice President of Public Affairs for the Tram, says the problem is not flood related, but electrical damage to some circuits at the Tramway. Purdy tells News Channel 3 that crews have been working on the issue since noticed, and they are hoping to have it opened later today, but that is all pending on if they have the correct replacement to fix the issue.

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway was closed on Monday due to "unforeseen technical issues" following the storm over the weekend, officials said.

"Maintenance teams are actively working to resolve the issue and restore service as quickly and safely as possible," reads a notice from tram officials.
