Jagger Firkus scores hat trick in Firebirds 6-3 loss to Condors

THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) - The Coachella Valley Firebirds lost 6-3 to the Bakersfield Condors on Saturday at Dignity Health Arena

In the first, the Condors scored two goals by Josh Samanski and Quinn Hutson, while holding the Firebirds scoreless.

To open the middle frame, the birds wasted no time. Jagger Firkus tallied his fifth goal of the season to put Coachella Valley on the board.

Bakersfield only increased its lead back to three. Roby Jarventie and James Hamblin made it 4-1 after 14 minutes into the second.

Firkus scored his second goal of the game to cut the deficit to two, but the Condors responded with their third goal of the period. Jarventie nets his second goal of the game to put his team in front 5-2.

In the final period, Hutson found the back of the net for the second time for the 6-2 lead, but the Firebirds were not done yet.

Firkus lit the lamp for the third time, completing the hat trick.

Nikke Kokko started in net for CV and saved 21 shots on goal.

The Firebirds fall to a 6-5-2-0 record. Coachella Valley will return home and play the Abbotsford Canucks on Sunday, November 16th. Puck drop is at 5 PM.
