Firebirds’ win streak ends in shutout to Wranglers despite 43 shots on goal

COACHELLA VALLEY, Calif. (KESQ) – The Coachella Valley Firebirds fell to the Calgary Wranglers on Tuesday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome by the final score of 3-0.

The Firebirds put 43 shots on goal but were shutout for just the second time this season.

Coachella Valley was 0-6 on the power play.

Goaltender Nikke Kokko made 16 saves on 18 shots as the Firebirds’ record falls to 12-7-3-0 on the season.

The Firebirds conclude their Canadian road trip this Thursday, Dec. 11 with a rematch against the Wranglers. Puck drop is 6 p.m.

Coachella Valley returns home on Wednesday, Dec. 17 to host the San Jose Barracuda. Game time is at 6:30 p.m.
