Firebirds on fire, win fifth straight following win over reigning champion Canucks

COACHELLA VALLEY, Calif. (KESQ) -- The Firebirds are on fire of late, having won their last five games after taking down the reigning Calder Cup champion Canucks on Sunday at Acrisure Arena.

In fact, the Firebirds finished the weekend with two straight shutouts, defeating the Gulls in San Diego 4-0, followed by a 3-0 victory over Abbotsford.

The winning streak has Coachella Valley up to 4th in the Pacific Division Standings. The Firebirds are 21-12-4-0 through 37 games this season.

Next up is a home game Wednesday, Jan. 21 against the San Jose Barracuda. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Acrisure Arena.
