Local Seahawks fans fill Agua Caliente Casinos 360 Sports bar for Super Bowl watch party
RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. (KESQ) – The Seattle Seahawks are officially the Super Bowl LX Champions after defeating the New England Patriots 29-13. Seahawks fans turned the Rancho Mirage Agua Caliente Casino 360 Sports bar into a sea of green and blue for the game.
The first half of the game was pretty quiet as the Seahawks went into halftime on top at 12-0. For fans, it wasn't the most exciting game with four field goals, but they still worked to stay excited and chant "Seahawks" all night.
"This is our year, I think because our defense is unstoppable," Jeff Hooker said before the game. "Sam Darnold's been amazing. Mike Macdonald has done a great job in taking the team to another level. They're going to play a great game and not make any mistakes, so."
Patriots fans have been difficult to find in the Coachella Valley, especially as it's 3,000 miles away from New England. However, a few fans showed up at 360 Sports, many just excited to reach the Super Bowl again.
"We're the only Patriots fans here but that's okay," Sheri Norton said. "We're loud and happy."
It was a high-stakes game for both teams. The Seahawks hadn't been to the Super Bowl since 2015, which was a 28-24 loss to the Patriots. For Seattle, this game was a form of redemption from that loss and a chance to earn just their second Super Bowl win ever.
The Patriots had different stakes, as they were on the brink of their seven Super Bowl win. If they won, they would've been the first team in the NFL to reach seven Super Bowl titles.
