Firebirds lose winstreak in 4-3 shootout loss to Gulls

The Coachella Valley Firebirds lost in a shootout to the San Diego Gulls 4-3 at Pechanga Arena in San Diego, Ca.

In a high scoring affair, both the Firebirds and Gulls scored in each period.

Devin Shore got the scoring started for Coachella Valley and Ryan Winterton not only tallied one, but two goals on the night.

Going back and forth, the two teams went to overtime and could not get anything going on the ice. In the shootout, Logan Morrison was the loan goal scorer for the Birds, but it wasn't enough. San Diego tallied two goals in the shootout to put them over the edge.

The Firebirds drop to 33-13-5, but remain in first place in the Pacific Division.

Coachella Valley will remain on the read as the two teams will rematch on Friday, March 8th. Puck drop is set at 7:00 p.m.
