Rancho Mirage basketball coach Larry Bennett dead at 91

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. (KESQ) - Long-time Rancho Mirage basketball coach Larry Bennett died at the age of 91.

Coach Bennett spent 12 seasons with the Rattlers basketball team, but he was more than a coach.

He served as the volleyball scorekeeper, was a consistent supporter of the school's baseball team, and was a friend to many coaches across the valley, players, fans, family, and much more.

Before his time at Rancho Mirage High School, Bennett was a CHP officer in South Central Los Angeles from 1964 to 1989.
